Capture Team Established to Compete for Funding

Feb 12, 2013 Transportation & Infrastructure

One of the common priorities identified during the Power of 32 regional visioning project was the need to "Maximize Success at Competing for Funding." During the summer of 2012, Fourth Economy Consulting worked with many of the region's organizations and universities to identify the opportunities and challenges associated with funding pursuits. Those conversations lead to the development of the "Capture Team."

The Capture Team will serve as an open yet structured voluntary membership group with project management support. The goal of Capture Team is to engage and support diverse partners from across the region in developing successful grant proposals that are aligned with common priorities. To do that, the Capture Team will facilitate on-line and in-person networking across sectors and borders, augment organizational capacity in identifying and responding to grant opportunities, and support proactive funding pursuits around regional priorities.

Through its activities, the Capture Team hopes to complement other regional efforts and leverage previous funding successes. The Capture Team's inaugural project is helping Catalyst Connection find regional partners to pursue the Make It In America Challenge, a $40 million federal manufacturing grant to support “reshoring” of manufacturing from overseas to the region.
